Nymphea - A Skirt and Top 18 inch Doll Clothes Pattern

The Nymphea Skirt and Top Pattern is feminine, flowy and boho inspired. It can be sewn by any confident beginner and offers lots of options for cute and fun styling.  This pattern can be downloaded from this link - Nymphea Skirt and Top for 18" Dolls.

It is a 3-piece outfit composed of a top, sheer skirt and short shorts. The top has a puff shoulder sleeves with ruched bodice with trim details and crop length. The skirt is 3-tiered with elastic waistband and see-through style to highlight the short shorts that the outfit comes with. It was inspired by outfit ensembles that I usually see girls wear at music festival events such as Coachella. It has a bonus variation which includes a crop top with decorative buttons and short skirt.

This is the exact outfit that I used for the cover of this pattern. I used a floral cotton fabric for the crop top and I accented it with light yellow trim on the sleeves and neckline area. The material that I used for the sheer skirt is a soft tulle with embroidered red flowers which match the red floral print on the top. And for the shorts, I used a kona cotton blue fabric which also matched one of the colors on the crop top. The final ensemble goes perfect together and it’s one of my favorite creations.

On this ensemble that Nanea is modeling, I also used a woven floral fabric for the top but did not add any trim on the neckline and sleeves area. The ruched detailing on the bodice and puff sleeves made the top very cute and trendy. For the skirt, I used a regular woven lace that you can easily find at any fabric store such as Joann and Hobby Lobby and it worked great for the style. Instead of an elastic waistband, I used a flat waistband style which is also part of the tutorial on the pattern.

In the ensemble below, I used chiffon fabric in different colors for the sheer maxi skirt. In this style, the seams on the layers of the skirt were hidden instead of exposed. The crop top has a placket with decorative buttons.

And for the variation of the design, a shorter skirt with lace hem is featured. And to make this even more modern, the same fabric was used for both the crop top and skirt. Photos below shows one ensemble with ruched bodice and the other one with decorative buttons. Both looks very stylish and on trend for the spring and summer season.
