Aster Dress - A Pinafore-inspired dress for your 18-inch Dolls

The pinafore was the inspiration for the Aster Dress. The pinafore as described by Wikipedia is  sleeveless apron-like garment worn over a young girl's dress, typically having ties or buttons at the back   The Aster Dress pattern has that classic style and vintage flair but has a modern updated look.    It has a  fully lined bodice with ruffles along the princess seams that run from the front to the back giving it a more fitted look. It also features a square neckline, wide waistband and gathered skirt. If you’re into delicate, fun and feminine style, the Aster Dress is for you.

Here are some of the dresses I have created using the Aster Dress pattern.

This blue floral dress is as cute as can be. The ruffles along the bodice gives the dress a very feminine flair and the bright blue color gives off  cool, happy vibes. I also have to fussy cut the fabric as you can see in the photo. I centered the less floral prints of the fabric on the bodice and skirt and the more full floral prints are on the ruffles and hem.

This white eyelet dress is a dainty, breezy number.  The lace ruffles on the bodice and the circle patterned cut-outs create a very fresh, distinctive look. The square neckline, cinched waist and the cut out hem detailing of the skirt makes this dress effortlessly chic. This eyelet dress is definitely a summer staple. This dress was a bestseller in my Etsy shop when I released it.

Gingham and floral are one of my favorite prints to combine.  The dress has an overall floral pattern accentuated with pink gingham ruffles on the bodice and  armholes and a gingham-patterned waistband. If you want your doll to be fashionably chic, this would be your go to dress.

Everything's just peachy with this outfit. The peach floral pattern, the cream ruffles on the bodice and  on the gathered skirt makes this dress very fresh to look at. Just the perfect outfit for casual summer parties.

The color yellow always has this cheery air to it and this dress clearly embodies the cheerful, summery vibe. The floral yellow pattern is accentuated with lace-trimmed ruffles on the bodice and armholes.

This is another version of the yellow dress,  but this time in a lovely blue color. The lacey, white ruffles on the bodice added sophistication to the dress.

This textured cotton fabric has a more dramatic look with wider ruffles on the bodice and armholes. The dress has a daisy floral pattern and the dress' light blue color is reminiscent of summer skies.

These are just some of the looks that  you can create with Aster Dress Pattern but there's so much more designs that you can make. You can mix and match different fabrics, design patterns or experiment with various color combinations to come up with a unique, versatile dress. Don't hold back on your creativity. The only limit is your imagination.
